What Types of Mattresses work best with Adjustable Beds?

There are several mattress options available for use with adjustable beds. Each is unique and the best of the group is only to be determined by the individual user.
Adjustable Beds can be used with three basic kinds of mattresses traditional inner spring, memory foam and latex foam. However, the user is generally going to be best served with one of the more advanced options in foam.
Typical are segmented and have a foot and head area elevation rate of about 50 percent. That means any mattress used is going to have to be able to bend to a significant degree in order to be able to maximize the bed’s usefulness.
Picking the right inner-spring mattress will be crucial in ensuring the unit works as it should. Keep in mind also that springs push back against body weight and can create pressure points - another disadvantage when compared with memory and latex foam mattresses.
Memory foam mattresses were developed out of 1970s-era NASA technology. The petroleum-based substance was created as part of a project to protect astronauts from harmful G-forces experienced at take-off and re-entry. After that, memory foam became a preferred mattress material in hospital settings. Memory foam is valued for its body-contouring properties that distribute weight evenly across the surface. The result is fewer pressure points and more comfort.
Latex foam is very similar to memory foam - basically an all-natural alternative. Latex foam is derived from the milky sap of rubber trees. It is environmentally safe, hypo-allergenic and anti-bacterial. It provides a very similar body-hugging experience and also effective at presenting a fully-supported, floating feeling to the user.
When deciding between the three options, the user’s need is going to be the determining factor. Budget will also play a part.
