A Quality Memory Foam Mattress Should Not Restrict Movement

Claims that the body-contouring qualities of memory have a tendency to hold the user in place to the point of making position adjustments difficult are generally made by those who have not had a true memory foam experience. In other words, only low-quality memory foam products possess restrictive qualities.
By nature, there is some sinking that occurs when using a memory foam mattress. This is the melting feeling that has won over multitudes who are now convinced there is no better way to sleep. However, a mattress with proper memory foam density will accommodate just enough body absorption but not too much as to where movement is hindered. Memory foam is made of millions of tiny open cells that provide the mattress’ support structure. They slowly collapse under body weight and heat so that the body dips slightly while remaining 100 percent supported. Weight is distributed evenly across the mattress and uncomfortable pressure points are no longer a problem.
The denser a memory foam mattress is, the more firm it will also be. While low density mattresses may have attractive price tags, their cells are larger and fewer than higher quality alternatives. This means that the user will sink faster and deeper into the mattress perhaps to the point of having movement restricted or, worse, bottoming out.
The key to remember is that purchasing a memory foam mattress is the same as any other comparably-priced investment. Research should be intensive to ensure that the product being purchased is of proper quality. Those who heed that advice will be joined with a high quality mattress that will provide the best sleep experience available for years to come. But those who decide blindly, or with only a price tag to consider, may indeed one day rant against memory foam. But it won’t be justly.
