"My husband was quite skeptical about buying a mattress unseen but I was impressed with the details and reviews so we decided to try it. The very first morning after our first night's sleep he said he liked it! My back took about a week to adjust but after that I liked it too. I like very much that it does not have an off-gassing of chemicals like most mattresses do. Plus it does not sleep hot like the other memory foams do. I'm very glad we bought it."

Tom Ferrantre

"I have purchased (2) AS3 mattresses. One is a Queen the other is a Twin size. We love these mattresses. They are comfortable and no more back aches in the morning. With so many choices for bed-in-a-box mattresses I picked Amerisleep because I liked the fact that they use environmentally friendly materials have a mattress cover that helps your body. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second one. I recommend that you try it for yourself. And if you don't like it you can return it, but I doubt that you will because you will love it."

Laura Poole

"Best sleep of my life. These mattresses are a little more than the other bed in a box mattresses but it was so worth the extra money. The website helps you pick the mattress that is best for you based on how you sleep. It was spot on. I usually have trouble as a side sleeper because my hips and knees hurt from the pressure, but not with this bed. It is just firm enough but also soft enough for the mattress to hug your body a little. I love my mattress and recommend Amerisleep to everyone I know. Customer service over the phone was awesome too, the mattress came earlier than expected, right to my front door."

Anthony Rajchel

“Amerisleep has changed the way I sleep. I wake up refreshed every morning and can’t wait to get back into bed to sleep the next night away. Paired with my weighted blanket I sleep with unmatched comfort. My dog loves it too!! Thanks Amerisleep!!"

Lalo Gutierrez

"I bought the AS3 and it is wonderful. Keeps me cool at night and very comfortable. I get to sleep a lot better than ever. Great mattress!"

Mattress Sizes in the Aldine Area

Mattress size is an important consideration when choosing a new bed. If you buy something too small, you won’t have enough room to get comfortable. But if you buy something too big, it may make your bedroom feel cramped.

To make the shopping process easier, we break down each mattress size and who they’re recommended for below.

Twin

Length: 74 inches
Width: 38 inches
A twin size mattress fits well into a small bedroom or studio apartment. Parents often choose a twin bed or two for their children’s room.

Twin XL

Length: 80 inches
Width: 38 inches
If you’re a tall sleeper in a small bedroom, a twin XL mattress can provide you with a good night’s sleep. They’re also an excellent choice for a simple guest room.

Full

Length: 75 inches
Width: 54 inches
A full size mattress is well suited for single sleepers who want a spacious mattress without overcrowding the bedroom. However, couples who want a compact mattress should consider a queen instead.

Queen

Length: 80 inches
Width: 60 inches
Queen size mattresses are a nearly universal mattress size. They fit in most bedrooms and provide single sleepers and couples with a comfortable night’s rest.

King

Length: 80 inches
Width: 76 inches
A king mattress is the largest standard size mattress. It’s an excellent way to upgrade your master bedroom.

California King

Length: 84 inches
Width: 72 inches
A California king mattress is longer and narrower than a king mattress. It’s suitable for sleepers over 6 feet tall and parents interested in co-sleeping with a child.

Split King

Length: 80 inches
Width: 76 inches total, 38 inches for each mattress.
A split king mattress is two twin XL mattresses pushed together. If you and your partner disagree on what a comfortable mattress feels like, you can settle your differences with a split king mattress.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best hybrid to buy from the Amerisleep Aldine mattress store?

All of our hybrid mattresses are top-quality beds, though each of them is suited for different kinds of sleepers.

The AS3 Hybrid has a medium feel that’s suitable for side and combination sleepers. The Bio-Pur® comfort layer is conforming enough to relieve pressure in a side sleeper and buoyant enough to adapt with a combination sleeper’s movements. Back sleepers who want a cushioning mattress can also enjoy the AS3 because of the bed’s targeted back support.

The AS5 Hybrid balances a plush feel with responsive coils. It’s well-suited for side sleepers who enjoy sinking into their mattresses.

Can you put a mattress from the Amerisleep Aldine mattress store directly on the slats?

Yes, you can place your mattress directly on the frame’s slats. Just ensure the slats are no more than 3 inches apart. If the distance between the slats is greater than 3 inches, your Amerisleep mattress may dip between the slats and stretch out of shape.

If you have a panel bed with slats that are too far apart, you can support one of our mattresses with a piece of moisture-resistant plywood or a mattress foundation. Do not place an Amerisleep mattress on a box spring because the design does not offer sufficient support.

Do you need a box spring with a mattress from the Amerisleep Cypress mattress store?

No, our memory foam and hybrid mattresses are not designed to be used with a box spring. A box spring is designed to support a traditional innerspring mattress. The coils inside a box spring are not grouped close enough to create the consistently even and supportive surface our mattresses need.

Instead of a box spring, we recommend a mattress foundation for support. A wooden foundation can replace a box spring inside a traditional panel bed, raising the bed’s profile. Usually, you can also use the foundation on its own, attaching legs to create a simple platform bed or place the foundation on the floor. Just make sure the foundation’s slats are no more than 3 inches apart.

How do I choose a good mattress at the Amerisleep Aldine mattress store?

While all of our mattresses are high-quality beds, their different designs mean that not every mattress will feel comfortable to you. To choose the right mattress, keep in mind your sleeping style:

  • Side sleepers should try an AS3, AS4, or AS5 mattress.
  • Back sleepers can rest well on AS1, AS2, or AS3 mattress.
  • Stomach sleepers can keep their spine aligned with the AS1 or AS2 mattress.
  • Combination sleepers should consider our AS3 memory foam and hybrid mattresses.

If you have questions about our mattresses or want a recommendation, feel free to ask any of our on-site Sleep Ambassadors. You can also reach us by phone or chat with us online.

Can you break a bed by jumping on it?

Yes, you can damage a mattress by leaping up and down on it. Even worse, you risk injuring yourself if you jump on the bed.

While mattresses like ours are designed to absorb motion, even high-quality beds are not equipped to deal with the sharp impact of your body bouncing about. Memory foam can tear under the extreme pressure, while the springs in a hybrid may lose support and create lumps in the mattress. For your sake and your bed’s, we strongly recommend against any jumping.

Does bed height affect sleep?

How high your bed is shouldn’t affect your sleep quality. However, the bed’s profile can determine how easy it is for you to move in and out of bed.

Older people, in particular, need a bed that’s easy for them to get out of. A too-high mattress can increase the chances of injury from a fall. A bed that’s too low can be hard on their joints.

How do you know if your bed is at the correct height? Try sitting on the edge. Your feet should rest flat on the floor, with your knees bent so that they are roughly level with your hips.

Why is it hard to sleep in a new bed?

There are two reasons why you might struggle to fall asleep on a new mattress.

The first reason is the scientifically observed “first night effect.” Researchers observed that sleep study subjects tested over multiple days often struggle to fall asleep the first night and concluded it was because they hadn’t fully adapted to their new surroundings.

Similarly, you may need to correct your sleeping posture if you’ve switched an old mattress out for a new one. Your body adapts to a mattress as it loses support, compensating through your position. So when you lie on a new mattress, you tend to assume the position you adopted to deal with your old mattress’s failings. Some sleepers take as long as a month to correct their sleeping posture fully.
