"My husband was quite skeptical about buying a mattress unseen but I was impressed with the details and reviews so we decided to try it. The very first morning after our first night's sleep he said he liked it! My back took about a week to adjust but after that I liked it too. I like very much that it does not have an off-gassing of chemicals like most mattresses do. Plus it does not sleep hot like the other memory foams do. I'm very glad we bought it."

Tom Ferrantre

"I have purchased (2) AS3 mattresses. One is a Queen the other is a Twin size. We love these mattresses. They are comfortable and no more back aches in the morning. With so many choices for bed-in-a-box mattresses I picked Amerisleep because I liked the fact that they use environmentally friendly materials have a mattress cover that helps your body. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second one. I recommend that you try it for yourself. And if you don't like it you can return it, but I doubt that you will because you will love it."

Laura Poole

"Best sleep of my life. These mattresses are a little more than the other bed in a box mattresses but it was so worth the extra money. The website helps you pick the mattress that is best for you based on how you sleep. It was spot on. I usually have trouble as a side sleeper because my hips and knees hurt from the pressure, but not with this bed. It is just firm enough but also soft enough for the mattress to hug your body a little. I love my mattress and recommend Amerisleep to everyone I know. Customer service over the phone was awesome too, the mattress came earlier than expected, right to my front door."

Anthony Rajchel

“Amerisleep has changed the way I sleep. I wake up refreshed every morning and can’t wait to get back into bed to sleep the next night away. Paired with my weighted blanket I sleep with unmatched comfort. My dog loves it too!! Thanks Amerisleep!!"

Lalo Gutierrez

"I bought the AS3 and it is wonderful. Keeps me cool at night and very comfortable. I get to sleep a lot better than ever. Great mattress!"

Mattress Sizes Available in Alvin

Mattress size is an important consideration when choosing a new bed. If you buy something too small, you won’t have enough room to get comfortable. But if you buy something too big, it may make your bedroom feel cramped.

To make the shopping process easier, we break down each mattress size and who they’re recommended for below.

Twin

Dimensions: 38 inches by 75 inches
A twin size mattress offers a small sleeping surface that’s well-suited for kids and adults under 6 feet tall. However, some parents choose to invest in a twin XL mattress instead of a traditional twin because the slightly larger size is better equipped to handle a child’s last growth spurt in their teen years.

Twin XL

Dimensions 38 inches by 80 inches
While it’s not much longer than a standard twin, the extra 5 inches a twin XL size mattress offers can make a big difference if you’re a person over 6 feet tall. Taller sleepers are free to stretch out for a good night’s rest while still saving precious floor space with a compact bed size.

Full

Dimensions: 54 inches by 75 inches
A full size mattress lets a solo sleeper sprawl across a mattress without sacrificing too much of their bedroom space. The size is 16 inches wider than a twin, so there’s room to move without any danger of falling off the bed.

Queen

Dimensions: 60 inches by 80 inches
A queen size mattress is the most popular choice, and it’s not difficult to discern why. A queen mattress can usually fit in an average bedroom and leave space for other furniture like a dresser, nightstand, lamp, and more. Couples can share a queen without bumping into each other as they sleep, while single sleepers can enjoy a generously sized sleeping surface.

King

Dimensions: 76 inches by 80 inches
A king size mattress is the widest standard size, measuring a little over 6 feet wide. King mattresses are well-suited for couples who want some space to themselves as they sleep or parents who plan on co-sleeping with a young child. However, it’s important to make sure a king size bed doesn’t take up too much space and there’s still plenty of room for people to walk around—along with space for other bedroom furniture.

California King

Dimensions: 72 inches by 84 inches
A California king mattress is the height of luxury when it comes to tall sleepers because it’s the longest size. While most people will fit fine on a standard king, people over 6 feet tall might find that their feet dangle over the edge. The extra 4 inches of length give tall people much-appreciated legroom.

Split King

Dimensions: Two halves measuring 38 inches by 80 inches, totaling 76 inches by 80 inches
Split king mattresses may be the best size for couples who want to share a bed, particularly if they have conflicting personal preferences. Split king mattresses often have a different firmness on each side, so two people with different sleeping styles or body types can comfortably share a mattress without giving up what helps them sleep well. Split king mattresses also pair well with an adjustable bed since each side can be raised and lowered independently of the other half.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s better, a hybrid or memory foam mattress from the Amerisleep Alvin mattress store?

Both memory foam and hybrid mattresses have advantages and disadvantages. A well-made memory foam mattress is affordable, provides cradling comfort and adaptable support, and lasts at least 7 years with care. A quality hybrid mattress stays cool better thanks to its coil support, which offers plenty of space for air to circulate. Some sleepers also prefer the bouncy feel of a hybrid mattress, which lifts a person and keeps them more on top of the bed.

Can I use my old box spring with a memory foam mattress from the Amerisleep Alvin mattress store?

No, you should not place one of our memory foam mattresses on a box spring, whether it’s old or new. A box spring does not provide the consistent, even support our mattresses need. The spaces between the coils inside the box spring leave room for our mattresses to sag, reducing their support and comfort.

What thickness of mattress is best from the Amerisleep Alvin mattress store?

A quality mattress should be at least 10 inches thick to ensure proper support, comfort, and durability—we don’t sell any mattresses thinner than this for that reason. Most of our other mattresses are 12 inches thick, though our softest model (AS5) is 14 inches thick. All of these thicknesses create a mattress that isn’t too tall to comfortably move in and out of, while ensuring the bed is durable and comfortable.

What does rotating your mattress do?

Rotating your mattress helps keep your mattress and body in good condition. However, we design our mattresses so that they don’t need any rotating or flipping—making them super easy to maintain.

When shopping with other brands, it’s recommended to flip or rotate your mattress every few months since sleeping in the same spot every night increases your chances of creating a permanent body impression in your mattress. But in the grand scheme of things, rotating an Amerisleep mattress won’t make much of a difference in comfort since our foams are designed to last for two decades.

Is a memory foam mattress good for the back?

Yes, memory foam mattresses can support the back and prevent pressure points from causing more severe pain. However, you have to make sure you choose a mattress firmness that works with your sleeping style. A too-soft or too-firm mattress, of any mattress type, is more likely to cause pain than relieve it.
