However, our beds are not 100 percent comfortable until they finish expanding, usually taking around 8 hours. You can sleep on our mattresses before the 8-hour mark, but you might sleep more restlessly because of it.

Can I put an Amerisleep memory foam mattress on a box spring?

We do not recommend placing any of our mattresses on a box spring, regardless of its mattress type. Box springs are designed for traditional innerspring mattresses only. Their internal coils are placed to line up with the coils inside an innerspring mattress.

These coils are too far apart to create a consistently supportive surface. Plus, most foam and hybrid mattresses are heavier than traditional innerspring mattresses. Pairing any of these mattresses with a box spring usually results in premature sagging and buying a new mattress sooner than you wanted to.
