Shopping in our mattress stores also gives you the chance to feel our mattresses before buying them. It’s not necessary, though, as all of our mattresses include a 100-night sleep trial, whether purchased online or in-store. Under our sleep trial, you can return your bed for a full refund or exchange it for another model.

We produce all of our mattresses here in America. We recommend U.S.-made mattresses over imported beds because U.S. mattresses are made in compliance with labor laws and health and safety standards. Every Amerisleep mattress is also certified safe by CertiPUR-US®, a third-party organization ensuring our foam is manufactured without harmful chemicals.

We recommend placing a memory foam mattress on a solid or slatted surface. Mattress foundations are a popular modern option, but platform beds and adjustable bed frames are also good go-to’s. When using a slatted frame, slats should be no more than 3 inches apart to offer even support.

Do not keep a memory foam mattress on a box spring. A box spring’s internal coils are not close enough to create an even surface, leaving gaps that promote sagging.

A mattress pad is a good way to add a touch of softness to your bed, but it doesn’t offer much protection. If you want to protect your mattress from spills, dust mites, and dirt, consider a mattress protector. A mattress protector shields your mattress from damage and helps prolong its lifespan.

All of our Amerisleep mattresses are 10 inches or more because we believe a comfortable, supportive, and durable mattress should be at least that thick. Mattresses under 10 inches often lack the transition layers that improve a bed’s feel and response time, decreasing its potential comfort and support. You’re also more likely to wear down a thin mattress in only a few short years.

A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself how well you’re sleeping if your mattress is more than a few years old. If you don’t have a problem falling asleep and wake up feeling refreshed, your mattress is likely still in great shape.

Conversely, if you’re not sleeping well, the culprit might be a bad mattress. A telltale sign is waking up with more pain than when you went to bed—an old mattress can cause back pain and other issues.

You can sleep on our mattresses minutes after unboxing and setting it up. We recommend giving the bed 8 hours to expand fully, but you won’t hurt the mattress by sleeping on it sooner. However, the mattress may not feel as comfortable as it will after reaching its full shape.
