Yes, you can put a piece of plywood under our mattresses if the plywood meets two conditions. One, the plywood must be moisture resistant to limit mold and mildew growth. Two, the plywood must be at least 0.75 inches thick to ensure enough support.

Plywood makes a good and inexpensive mattress foundation since it provides consistent, even support. However, it can prevent air from flowing through the bottom of the mattress.

When it comes to relieving back pain, we recommend our AS1, AS2, or AS3 models. The right mattress for you depends on your sleeping style.

Stomach sleepers tend to wake up with back pain because they’re not sleeping on a firm enough mattress. Our AS1 or AS2 is the perfect way to limit sinkage and misalignment.

Back sleepers need a mattress firm enough to minimize sinkage yet soft enough to mold to their spine’s curves. Our AS2 mattress feels firm yet has enough malleable cushion to relieve pressure.

Side sleepers may wake up in pain because their mattress doesn’t balance support with pressure relief. Our AS3 is a true medium, providing an even mix of cushion and support.

While there are still mattresses available that can benefit from a box spring, box springs are no longer the necessity they once were. Manufacturers are now creating mattresses that are more comfortable and supportive than traditional innerspring mattresses. Therefore, they no longer require a box spring to provide a good night’s rest.

You should not keep our mattresses on a box spring because the accessory cannot provide stable support. The gaps between a box spring’s inner coils are too wide to create a uniformly even surface. If you have a box spring you wish to use, make sure you place a plywood plank on top of it. The plywood should be moisture resistant, 0.75 inches thick, and cut to fit your mattress.

Mattress firmness levels describe how hard or soft a bed feels. Many mattress companies use a 1-10 firmness scale to determine whether their mattress is extra-soft, soft, medium-soft, medium, medium-firm, firm, or extra-firm.

When it comes to innerspring beds and hybrids, the main differences are their comfort layer and coil structure. An innerspring mattress typically has a thin layer of foam and fabric on the top and bottom. A hybrid mattress has at least one thick foam layer on top of its coil support system. The pressure relief a hybrid’s design offers is why many sleepers prefer them over a traditional innerspring mattress.

Additionally, most hybrids feature pocketed coils for more targeted support and enhanced motion isolation.
