"My husband was quite skeptical about buying a mattress unseen but I was impressed with the details and reviews so we decided to try it. The very first morning after our first night's sleep he said he liked it! My back took about a week to adjust but after that I liked it too. I like very much that it does not have an off-gassing of chemicals like most mattresses do. Plus it does not sleep hot like the other memory foams do. I'm very glad we bought it."

Tom Ferrantre

"I have purchased (2) AS3 mattresses. One is a Queen the other is a Twin size. We love these mattresses. They are comfortable and no more back aches in the morning. With so many choices for bed-in-a-box mattresses I picked Amerisleep because I liked the fact that they use environmentally friendly materials have a mattress cover that helps your body. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second one. I recommend that you try it for yourself. And if you don't like it you can return it, but I doubt that you will because you will love it."

Laura Poole

"Best sleep of my life. These mattresses are a little more than the other bed in a box mattresses but it was so worth the extra money. The website helps you pick the mattress that is best for you based on how you sleep. It was spot on. I usually have trouble as a side sleeper because my hips and knees hurt from the pressure, but not with this bed. It is just firm enough but also soft enough for the mattress to hug your body a little. I love my mattress and recommend Amerisleep to everyone I know. Customer service over the phone was awesome too, the mattress came earlier than expected, right to my front door."

Anthony Rajchel

“Amerisleep has changed the way I sleep. I wake up refreshed every morning and can’t wait to get back into bed to sleep the next night away. Paired with my weighted blanket I sleep with unmatched comfort. My dog loves it too!! Thanks Amerisleep!!"

Lalo Gutierrez

"I bought the AS3 and it is wonderful. Keeps me cool at night and very comfortable. I get to sleep a lot better than ever. Great mattress!"

Mattress Sizes Available in Plano, Texas

Mattress size is an important consideration when choosing a new bed. If you buy something too small, you won’t have enough room to get comfortable. But if you buy something too big, it may make your bedroom feel cramped.

To make the shopping process easier, we break down each mattress size and who they’re recommended for below.

Twin

Dimensions: 38 inches by 80 inches
Twin size mattresses are the smallest size an adult can comfortably sleep on, and only if they’re under 6 feet tall. While many adults prefer a larger size that allows them to stretch out and share with a partner, twin size beds are suitable for anyone with a small or abnormally shaped bedroom.

Twin XL

Dimensions 38 inches wide and 80 inches long
People over 6 feet tall are better off with a twin XL size mattress if they’re seeking a compact bed. The standard twin doesn’t provide room for them to stretch out, leaving them cramped and uncomfortable. Because they suit most body types, twin XL mattresses are common in college dormitories, though some schools opt for full mattresses instead.

Full

Dimensions: 54 inches by 75 inches
Full size mattresses are excellent for adults who want a sleeping surface they can sprawl on, though taller sleepers might need the foot room a queen bed offers. A full mattress may also be referred to as a double bed. Despite this nickname, a full size mattress is too narrow for couples to share comfortably.

Queen

Dimensions: 60 inches by 80 inches
Queen size mattresses are perfect for people seeking a wide mattress that fits into most bedrooms and budgets. Most couples can share a queen mattress without feeling as if they’re squeezed into a too-small space. Single sleepers also enjoy the spacious width of a queen bed.

King

Dimensions: 76 inches by 80 inches
King size mattresses are often the best way to complete a master bedroom. The wide size gives partners room to shift and sprawl without affecting the other’s comfort. Parents often choose a king mattress for their bedroom to make it easier for a small child to slip in and co-sleep with them.

California King

Dimensions: 72 inches by 84 inches
California king size mattresses are another way to upgrade a master bedroom. A California king mattress isn’t necessarily better than a standard king, but it does offer sleepers over 6 ½ feet tall room to stretch out their legs. While a California king is narrower than a traditional king, most couples find they have room to sleep without bumping into each other.

Split King Size Mattresses

Dimensions: Two mattresses, each 38 inches by 80 inches
Many couples who disagree on firmness preferences find they sleep best when they share a split king size mattress. Since the mattress is technically two beds pushed together, it’s easy to make sure each side has a different feel. The halves of split king mattresses can also move independently on an adjustable bed, while a traditional king mattress must move as one part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a bad box spring ruin a mattress from the Plano Amerisleep mattress store?

We don’t recommend using a box spring with our mattresses, regardless of the box spring’s condition. Box springs are designed to support a traditional innerspring mattress only, which is lighter than the average foam or hybrid mattress.

If you place an Amerisleep mattress on a box spring, the mattress will eventually dip between the box spring’s inner coils and lose its supportive structure. Instead, we recommend keeping your mattress on a solid or slatted surface. Bed bases with slats should have gaps that are no more than 3 inches wide to ensure consistent support.

Should you sit on the edge of a mattress from the Plano Amerisleep mattress store?

It’s difficult to sit on the edges of our memory foam mattresses because of their yielding cushion.

However, our hybrid mattresses feature edge support on their left and right sides, thanks to a selection of dense coils. If you have a medical condition that restricts movement, such as arthritis, a mattress with edge support can make your mornings easier.

What is good about memory foam mattresses from the Plano Amerisleep mattress store?

Memory foam mattresses are popular with sleepers because they relieve pressure points across the body. The material reacts to heat and weight; when a person lies down, the mattress molds itself to all of their curves. The unique Bio-Pur® foam that tops our mattresses stays cooler than traditional memory foam.

Our memory foam mattresses are also affordable for the average shopper, thanks to our competitive pricing. Plus, every memory foam mattress is backed by a 20-year extensive warranty, longer than the standard 10-year warranty.

Are pocket springs or foam better?

Amerisleep mattresses have subtly different feels depending on whether they contain pocketed coils or supportive base foam, but neither is necessarily better than the other. Pocketed coils promote a flat but reactive surface, keeping a person feeling on top of the mattress. Memory foam mattresses hug a sleeper’s body, giving a feeling of sinking into the bed that many people enjoy.

Our memory and pocket spring mattresses share similarities as well. Both mattress types feature conforming surfaces that relieve pressure points across the body. They also isolate movement, ensuring couples sleep uninterrupted.

What is the smell of a latex mattress?

Because of their natural production, an organic latex mattress doesn’t experience the same off-gassing period as memory foam mattresses. It’s made without the chemicals that go into a memory foam mattress, so it lacks the temporary odor caused by volatile organic compounds breaking down.

That’s not to say latex mattresses can’t smell. Some people have compared the faint scent of a natural latex mattress to a sweet vanilla aroma. Most people find the scent pleasant if they notice it at all.
