Twin

Twin XL

Will a memory foam mattress from the Southlake Amerisleep mattress store sag?

There is no such thing as a mattress that’s 100 percent sag-free, even beds as well made as ours. That said, our memory foam mattresses are unlikely to sag thanks to our unique Bio-Core® foam. Our other foams are resilient and withstand wear well, but Bio-Core® resists compression so well that it inspired our 20-year mattress warranty.

How do mattress trials work at the Southlake Amerisleep mattress store?

Our 100-night mattress trial, also known as our sleep trial, begins the day your mattress arrives at your home. Most customers realize after the first 30 nights whether or not a mattress is right for them—we offer extra time so customers can feel secure in their final decision.

If a customer wishes to return their mattress after a month, we will offer a full refund.

Do you still need a box spring with a bed base from the Southlake Amerisleep mattress store?

No, our mattress foundation and adjustable base models can support any of our mattresses on their own. Besides, box springs don’t provide the support a memory foam or hybrid mattress needs because the standard box spring was designed for use with a traditional innerspring mattress.

The coils inside a box spring line up with the coils inside an innerspring mattress, providing support. However, these internal springs cannot consistently support a foam or hybrid mattress, leaving spots that go unsupported and will eventually sag. Instead, you should keep our mattresses on a solid or slatted surface.

How do I know if my current mattress is worn out and needs replacing?

Signs that your old mattress is no longer entirely comfortable include:

Waking up with back pain and other aches from an unsupportive surface
Visible indications that the mattress has lost its shape, such as sagging and permanent impressions
An increase in morning allergy or asthma symptoms, caused by an old mattress that’s accumulated allergens

Should you air a new mattress?

It’s a good idea to make sure your new mattress is set up in a well-ventilated room. Many memory foam mattresses experience a brief period of off-gassing, a process where volatile organic compounds break down at room temperature. This breakdown releases a chemical smell many find unpleasant, though the odor dissipates within a few days or even a few hours.

Running the air conditioner and opening your bedroom’s windows can speed up dissipation, leaving you with a fresh-smelling mattress. Good ventilation can also prevent heat and moisture from building up in your mattress while you sleep on it.
