"My husband was quite skeptical about buying a mattress unseen but I was impressed with the details and reviews so we decided to try it. The very first morning after our first night's sleep he said he liked it! My back took about a week to adjust but after that I liked it too. I like very much that it does not have an off-gassing of chemicals like most mattresses do. Plus it does not sleep hot like the other memory foams do. I'm very glad we bought it."

Tom Ferrantre

"I have purchased (2) AS3 mattresses. One is a Queen the other is a Twin size. We love these mattresses. They are comfortable and no more back aches in the morning. With so many choices for bed-in-a-box mattresses I picked Amerisleep because I liked the fact that they use environmentally friendly materials have a mattress cover that helps your body. I liked the first one so much that I purchased a second one. I recommend that you try it for yourself. And if you don't like it you can return it, but I doubt that you will because you will love it."

Laura Poole

"Best sleep of my life. These mattresses are a little more than the other bed in a box mattresses but it was so worth the extra money. The website helps you pick the mattress that is best for you based on how you sleep. It was spot on. I usually have trouble as a side sleeper because my hips and knees hurt from the pressure, but not with this bed. It is just firm enough but also soft enough for the mattress to hug your body a little. I love my mattress and recommend Amerisleep to everyone I know. Customer service over the phone was awesome too, the mattress came earlier than expected, right to my front door."

Anthony Rajchel

“Amerisleep has changed the way I sleep. I wake up refreshed every morning and can’t wait to get back into bed to sleep the next night away. Paired with my weighted blanket I sleep with unmatched comfort. My dog loves it too!! Thanks Amerisleep!!"

Lalo Gutierrez

"I bought the AS3 and it is wonderful. Keeps me cool at night and very comfortable. I get to sleep a lot better than ever. Great mattress!"

Mattress Sizes Available in Spring

Mattress size is an important consideration when choosing a new bed. If you buy something too small, you won’t have enough room to get comfortable. But if you buy something too big, it may make your bedroom feel cramped.

To make the shopping process easier, we break down each mattress size and who they’re recommended for below.

Twin Size Mattress

Dimensions: 38 inches wide and 74 inches long
A twin size mattress is the smallest standard mattress size, not counting crib mattresses. The bed’s compact nature makes it an excellent choice for a small child’s room or a young adult’s studio apartment. People often maximize their space by buying twin mattresses for a bunk bed.

Twin XL Size Mattress

Dimensions 38 inches by 80 inches
A twin XL size mattress is well-suited for growing children and single adults. While a standard twin can easily accommodate a young child, a teen may outgrow a regular twin before the mattress needs replacing. Thanks to a twin XL mattress’s extra five inches of length, tall people can sleep comfortably without their feet dangling over the edge.

Full Size Mattress

Dimensions: 54 inches by 75 inches
A full size mattress is excellent for solo sleepers who want a mattress more spacious than a twin, but more compact than a queen mattress. However, a full size mattress is not large enough for a couple to share. Partners looking for a mattress should consider a queen size or bigger.

Queen Size Mattress

Dimensions: 60 inches by 80 inches
A queen size mattress is the most common bed size, and its dimensions are well suited for most bedrooms. It’s universally useful, providing both single sleepers and couples with a comfortable night’s rest. Partners with spacious bedrooms, however, may prefer the personal space that a king size mattress offers.

King Size Mattress

Dimensions: 76 inches by 80 inches
A king size mattress is the largest standard size, typically too large for anything smaller than a master bedroom. It’s excellent for partners who want space to sleep without running into each other. However, couples shopping on a budget or working with limited room space may be better off with a simple queen bed.

California King Size Mattress

Dimensions: 72 inches by 84 inches
A California king size mattress is excellent for couples who want a bed with extra foot room. Though narrower than a standard king, a California king mattress still provides two people with the personal space needed for a good night’s rest.

Split King Size Mattress

Dimensions: 38 inches by 80 inches
A split king size mattress allows for more freedom on an adjustable bed base than a standard king mattress. When you use a standard king mattress with a base, the whole bed must be raised and lowered. However, each half of a split king can be raised and lowered independently. Split king mattresses also allow two people with differing firmness preferences to share a mattress without complaint.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which memory foam mattress from the Amerisleep Spring mattress store is best for back pain?

The best memory foam mattresses for back pain sufferers may be our AS1, AS2, or AS3 models. Which one is right for you depends on your sleeping style:

  • A side sleeper experiencing back pain should try our AS3 mattress, which evenly balances support with cushion. The mattress’s medium feel ensures a neutral spine alignment while relieving pressure on the body.
  • A back sleeper experiencing back pain is likely best off with our AS2 mattress. The AS2’s medium-firm feel conforms to the back’s inward and outward curves to relieve pressure and support the spine.
  • A stomach sleeper experiencing back pain benefits from the firmness of our AS1 mattress. The thin comfort layer keeps the sleeper’s abdomen from sinking too far, which can cause spinal misalignment and back pain.
How often should I turn and clean my new mattress from the Amerisleep Spring mattress store?

We recommend rotating any of our mattresses every three to six months to even out wear and tear. By turning your mattress, you prevent yourself from sleeping in one spot and wearing down one section of the bed.

Similarly, you can keep your mattress clean by regularly washing your bedding, vacuuming the mattress often, and investing in a mattress protector. We recommend changing your bedding once a week and vacuuming your mattress once a month to minimize the chances of allergens and debris settling on your mattress.

How much does a mattress from the Amerisleep Spring mattress store weigh?

All of our mattresses’ weights depend on their materials, thickness, and size. Naturally, the thicker and larger a mattress is, the more it tends to weigh:

  • Our twin size mattresses weigh between 45 to 71 pounds
  • Our twin XL size mattresses weigh between 49 to 80 pounds
  • Our full size mattresses weigh between 63 to 97 pounds
  • Our queen size mattresses weigh between 75 to 113 pounds
  • Our king size mattresses weigh between 94 to 143 pounds
  • Our California king size mattresses weigh between 95 to 142 pounds
Can my old mattress be making me sick?

If you’re feeling congested or otherwise unwell, the culprit could be an old mattress that’s had time to collect bacteria and allergens. The body oils and dead skin cells you cast off attract dust mites, which can irritate the sinuses. Plus, there’s a lot of dust, dirt, pollen, and other debris you inevitably track in from outside. If you see an uptick in allergy symptoms during the morning, it’s probably time to replace your mattress.

What can I use instead of a box spring?

Box spring alternatives like a bunkie board or a mattress foundation will provide more support for a memory foam or hybrid mattress. Bunkie boards are essentially flat planks that are at most a few inches thick, creating a surface with uniform support. Mattress foundations are wooden frames with slats, ensuring air can flow through the mattress’s bottom while maintaining the bed’s structural integrity.

A proper bed base is important because without consistent, even support, your mattress will likely sag prematurely, compromising its support and leaving you to search for a new mattress.
